Kayla's Grandmother and Richie's Grandmother Teach About Iran!

During our April is Family Blogging Month project, many grandmothers visited to share about their background. Grandma Marty from Australia came in, Ethan's Halmoni from Korea visited, and Ayush's grandmother from India stopped by! Recently, Kayla's grandmother and Richie's grandmother shared some information about Iran!

Native Animals: Turkey Vulture and a Tiger Salamander

As part of the animal adaptation science unit,
the group from Wildlife Experience will bring ten local wild animals to Mrs. Yollis' class for careful scientific study.

Here are some images and facts from our first experience!

All of the animals are native animals. That means they are found naturally in our area.

Family Blogging Month Winner ~ Trent's Mammoth Lakes Adventure

During the month of April, Mrs. Yollis' class held the first annual April is Family Blogging Month.

Today is Memorial Day in America

Today is the last Monday of May and that means it is Memorial Day in America!

On this solemn day, Americans honor the men and women who died in active military service.

Did you know...

Memorial Day became a federal holiday in 1971.

It was first called Decoration Day in the years following the Civil War.

On Memorial Day many Americans visit cemeteries, attend patriotic parades, and have family gatherings.

It is customary to fly the flag at half staff until noon and then raise it to the top of the staff until sunset.

Mrs. Yollis and her students attended the Los Angeles County Office of Education's
Digital Voice Awards.
