ReplyDeleteI really like the PhotoPeach video you made with Mrs. Yollis. Once, while I was in Hawaii I went to snorkel with sea turtles and fish. When I was on the boat we actually saw dolphins. When you went whale watching what kind of boat did you go on?

ReplyDeleteThanks for all the questions that you asked. I had the best time with my family on this trip. First, we drove to Ventura Harbor.
Then, we embarked on a boat in the marina. We went out to sea, around the Channel Islands. We saw Pacific Grey Whales this time of year. The Orcas swim south in June.
I am sure they are very beautiful.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your question. I am not sure what kind of boat we were on. It had an upstairs viewing area and a downstairs. It was very windy and cold. It was an awesome trip. One day I would love to visit the same area in a kayak. Maybe the sea lions would come right up and join me!

ReplyDeleteYour post reminded me of the time I went whale watching on the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia.
Our boat was very still and a whale was diving underneath us and coming up the other side. I was close enough to touch the head of the animal with my feet hanging over the side of the boat.
What great memories both you and I will have!

You asked everyone if they think the animal you saw in one of the pictures was a sea otter. Like you, I think it was a sea otter.

ReplyDeleteYour video reminded me of the time I went on a sail boat. Although I wasn't whale watching, I saw two California Grey whales! One went under the boat and the boat lifted a tiny bit. It was very exciting. The other hung out on the side of the boat so we could get a good look at it.

ReplyDeleteI think the sea otter is a sea lion because it is brown and it has a point on its nose. I've only seen whales at Sea World, but I've seen about hundred seals at San Diego at a harbor, and most of the seals were on shore. Where did you get the view of the Channel Islands? What was the favorite whale you saw?
