  3. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I am here at Open House and I am amazed at all the hard work, creativity, thought and detail the students have put into their projects. The classroom looks beautiful. Its hard to leave to go to Jenna's brother's class because there is just SO much to look at. I cannot pick just one thing I liked the most. I'll name a few. I love Memory Lane, which gave a wonderful reprise of all that has happened this year. Great memories. I also love the dioramas. They are so creative and fun to look at. The computer lab color poems were beautiful. finally, I can't wait to take home the binders and look through them carefully.

Jenna has grown so much and blossomed in your class. I am so proud of her and thankful to you. It has been a spectacular year.

Jenna says, I can't believe that the year is almost over! I had so much fun making all the crafts and stories. Then I really loved making the kelp forest and fish. Too bad some of them fell down. :-(
I loved spending time with you this year.

    Warmly,
    Galyle and Jenna ♥

    Bryce,

Mommy, Hunter, and I really enjoyed seeing your classroom and all of your projects. Your work is so impressive. You can really tell how much work and concentration you put into your work. It was nice to see all of your classmates projects as well. I am glad you have Mrs. Yollis as a teacher. This has been a wonderful school year. I can't believe it is almost over. We love you so much.

    Love,
    Daddy

  5. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I was very impressed with all the students but of course I was especially proud of my daughter, Keira.

The depth in which you teach our 2nd and 3rd grade students far exceeds what I experienced.

Thank you very much for doing such a fantastic job!

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Thank you so much for hosting us at Open House. Wow! What amazing pieces of work we saw. I especially loved the favorite figures (dimensional paragraphs) and the poetry. I am amazed by how much the kids have grown within the school year - and by how much you have inspired them. Thank you for everything.

    From your very entertained guest,
    Eva (Keira's Stepmom)

  7. Dear Mrs, Yollis,

What a pleasure it was visiting your classroom today. We are extremely fortunate to have you as Keiras' teacher. I was looking at your blogging buddy board and was wondering if you have any bloggers from Central America?

    Sincerely,
    Carmen Allen

  8. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

We liked the "Who Am I" second grade computer lab reports the best because the students personalities were reflected in their writing. Also, our son's made us laugh.

  9. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

This was a amazing year. I learned many things in this class. One thing is writing a comment at the beginning of the year. The most important thing I learned was to never give up. Did you have a fabulous year?

    Sincerely,
    Sean

I really enjoy your classroom. I love the ancestors dolls they were really cool. I though the videos were really cute. Also I like the animal reports and the biography reports. I would of like to have you as a teacher. I think that this classroom is really amazing and interesting. What a great classroom.

I wrote a report about Jackie Robinson. I did not know that he was in the army.

    Sincerely,
    Anahi

  11. Dear Mrs. Yollis,
We just attended open house and have to say that it was fantastic. The entire classroom looked great and we were so impressed by all the the various projects. We especially enjoyed looking at all of the biography reports. Mallory's younger brother and sister even recognized Ronald Regan from our trip to the Regan Library.

Have you been to the Regan Library?

This has been such an amazing year and we can't believe that Mallory's already heading off to 4th grade. You're such an inspiring teacher and we know that Mallory loved being in your class.

Thank you for all that you've done this year.

    Best,
    Joanna & Billy (Mallory's Mom & Dad)

  13. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

I looked at our classroom and thought to myself, "That hard work really paid off!" In our classroom today, we worked on our cactus and made flowers and animals for it. We worked really hard and my hands were soon tired. I did have lots of fun though!

I wrote a biography about Steve Jobs. I chose him because he invented the iPhone, iPad, iMac (Macintosh), and the iPod which all have an apple at the back of it, and are very high tech in my opinion. What biography did you write and why did you pick him/her?

My favorite part of the night is Mrs. Yollis' Story Quilt (the Memory Lane). I enjoyed the memory lane because it reminds me of the joyful times we all had together. I "stitched" patch about the California STAR Test. The STAR stands for Standardised Testing and Reporting. Which patch did you make?

    Sincerely,
    Heather

  14. Dear Mrs. Yollis' Class,

I wanted to let you know how impressive last night's Open House was. It was exciting to see all you've learned and accomplished presented at one time. It shows just how far you've come since the beginning of the year! I was especially impressed with the desert habitat and coral reef. I love that students created these habitats to show all they've learned. It was a great feat.
I was wondering what some students' favorite part/activity of the year was. It's hard to believe the year is almost over!

    Warmly,
    Catherine

    1. Dear Catherine,

We think that all the parents were impressed. Peter's favorite activity was the Thanksgiving pumpkin bread. Bennett's favorite activity was setting up Open House.

We were also impressed with the terrific fish and coral reef. We wish that all the open houses will be magnificent. Yes, it is hard to believe the year is almost over!

If you remember your open house, what was it like? Did you see the biography time line? Peter was The Wright Brothers and I was Neil Armstrong.

      You 2/3 friends,

      Bennett and Peter

  15. Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,
I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of all the work you created this year! As a mother of a 3rd grader myself, I know there are quite a few things you learned throughout the school year. Great job on your successful completion of 3rd grade. Have a great summer!

  16. Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,

Your Open House presentations look brilliant. It would have been wonderful to see them in person but it would have been hard for me to drop in and be back the same day. The photos made it seem like I was there. :)

    Well done, everyone!

  17. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

What a night that was! It was amazing!

My favorite part of the night was seeing the Biography Timeline! It was cool visualizing everyone's biography stories and their artifacts.

I learned that iron sand is really attractive. ;-)

Did you think that the iron sand is attractive?

    Sincerely,
    Chloe

  18. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

That was an amazing Open House!

Our favorite things were the biographies. Abbey's biography was on a famous artist, Claude Monet. Bryce's biography was on Benjamin
Franklin. His artifact was a lightning rod.

The haikus were also grand to make during the year. Here is an a example of a haiku:

    Spectacular smell
    Colorful petals so frail
    Buzzing bees buzz by.

What was your favorite project at Open House?

    Sincerely,

    Abbey and Bryce

  19. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

We think that open house was spectacular. It really showed everyone all the important subjects we've been working on this year. My favorite part was when I showed my dad & brother the start of the biography timeline. My dad really enjoyed the timeline. He was impressed that it went all the way to Steve Jobs. My little brother's favorite part was also the timeline - he liked reading about Jackie Robinson.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Do you have any traditions that you do each year as summer approaches?

    Our best,

Peter Jr, Peter Sr & Wyatt

  20. Dear Mrs.Yollis and class,

Last year's open house was cool, and this year's was awesome too! When I came into the classroom during open house I was shocked! Mrs. Costantino also said some of us should have been embarrassed. I saw things from last year, but I also saw new things that inspired me. Last year was so memorable that when I saw the work I thought of everything we did last year. My favorite part was the biography timeline. I also really appreciated the dolls. My ancestry is from Korea, and I made a doll with a red dress with a pink ribbon around. This type of dress was worn at a baby's first birthday called dol.

    What was your doll about?

    Sincerely,
    Acacia

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,

My mom enjoyed looking at the incredible people in history. The speeches and projects were very impressive! My dad's favorite display was the Frozen Fractions because its colorful and brings out his sweet tooth. My little sister Abby loved the rainbow fish!

    We enjoyed exploring your classroom.
