  2. Dear Mrs Yollis and Grade 3
One of the reasons we like to visit your blog is because we like reading about the lives of children our age who live elsewhere.
There are lots of similarities and quite a few differences in our lives.
Another reason is that it is very easy to find our way around your blog. Some blogs are hard to read because they are so 'busy'.
The third reason is that we can often learn new and interesting things.

  3. Dear Mrs.Yollis,

I am looking forward to the 10 challenges. The kind of posts that really intrests me are ones with videos and pictures. This blog will be interesting because it not only shows stuff that is happening in the classroom but it shows stuff that is happening all over the world for example you posted that yesterday was the first day of fall. This blog will probaly be posting mostly about what is happening in the classroom and sometimes posting about stuff that is happening all around the world. People could learn about what we are doing in class and what is happening all around the world. I learned that yesterday was the first day of fall.

  6. Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,

I am excited to hear that you will be taking on the 10 challenges. I can't wait to see what great posts the class will create!

I enjoy the variety and breadth of your blog. Your blog teaches me so much about blogging and computers. I am constantly going back to your html tips that you have posted. I also enjoy your fun informational posts, such as the touching hummingbird story.

    Good luck Super Bloggers!

  7. @ Jaz,

Thanks for visiting our blog! We love your 2KJ blog as well!

    @ Mrs. McKenzie and B4,

Thanks so much for your kind words about our blog. We enjoy reading about the similarities and differences of each classroom around the world. Blogging is so rich!

I know what you mean about busy blogs. Sometimes blogs have lots of spinning gadgets in the sidebar which make it difficult to read. I prefer a more simple navigation too! :-)

    @ Jaden,

Thanks for a terrific comment! You are getting better and better at adding content. Super job! I think you will enjoy all of the challenges!

    @ Bianca,

Thank you for your best wishes! I'm glad that you enjoy our blog! Guess what? Speaking of the rescued hummingbird, we just saw Birdy today. He was gone for a while, but now he is back! :-)

    @ Ben,

I'm glad you are enjoying being a part of our blog. I like seeing videos and photos too! Just wait, there will be a lot of learning in the future! It's fun to have Nonno from Italy be a part of our online community, too@

    @ Mrs. Levy,

Thanks for such a kind comment! I'm glad to hear that you found the html post useful. It's fun to jazz up the comments in that way. We were talking about communities today in class. We mentioned that we have an online community, too. For example, Mrs. Levy and her class are part of our online community! :-)

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Y♥llis

  8. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

I love to visit your class blog because, as Mrs. Yollis described during "Back-to School Night," it is like a window into your classroom. I love to view the videos you make, and very much enjoy looking at class photos of Alexa and her friends "in action!" You do amazing things in your third-grade classroom, and it is inspiring and beautiful to watch all of the different learning opportunities present themselves.

I especially enjoyed the photos of the class writing on their desks. Did all of the markers wash off well? It looked like everyone had fun doing something non-traditional, yet educational all the while!

Wishing everyone a fabulous day, and enjoyable weekend....

    Warmly,
    Lori (Alexa's mom)

  9. Dear Mrs Yollis and students,

I too would like to wish you all the very best on your blogging challenge.

I just love visiting your blog for a number of reasons. Firstly I love all the wonderful posts you put on about your country from your wildlife to your beautiful landscapes.
I also enjoy your posts on your special projects you do in and out of the classroom. I feel like I am sitting in your classroom and together learning with your students.
Even all the way down under.
I also love the other side of your blog where you became a wonderful care take of Birdie and what was even more special is that Birdie lived.
So thats why I just LOVE to visit your blog its educational, informative and always so very interesting.

    Keep up the great work,
    from your blogging friend AA.

  10. @ Mrs. Yollis,

Thank you for commenting back to me. I have had a excellent time commenting with you and the rest of the class for a couple weeks. Maybe we will meet new people from the challenge. What is the next lesson about blogging? When are we learning it?

    Jaden

  11. @ Lori, (Alexa's mom)

I'm glad you share my thoughts about the blog. As I said, I feel like it is a window in!

Not only do parents get to see what we are learning, they can also join in! That joining in can be leaving a comment here on the blog or following a post up with a discussion around the dinner table. Parents now know what we're learning and can deepen their child's learning by searching the Internet or library for additional information to add to the learning. I ♥ it!

Yes, the markers on the desk work great! Some colors stain a bit, so we used the Clorox wipes after the lesson. By the way, we can always use more Clorox wipes! :-)

    @ AA, (from Australia)

Thank you for you kind good wishes!

We ♥ having you visit our blog for the following reasons. First of all, you always are complimentary. You see the good and acknowledge it. Second, you always add new information to the discussion. That is a critical element in blogging. Adding specific information adds to everyone's learning. Finally, you are a regular visitor and commenter and so everyone knows you and looks forward to your comments!

    Thanks for you constant support!

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Y♥llis

  12. @ Jaden,

Thank you for answering back to a few of our readers. Especially for writing back to Mr. Salsich's students. It's nice to have students pitching in and helping respond to our readers.

You ask what is next with the Blogging Challenge. Miss W. just posted a list of classes/students who completed challenge #1. She highlighted several blogs that had good "Why should you visit?" posts. She also published a link to a teacher with a terrific "About" page. I just did a post using her list.

Please visit one or two and leave a comment for them. Be sure to tell them that you are from our class and only use your first name.

Let us know which ones were your favorites and why!

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Y♥llis

  13. Hi Mrs. Yollis!

  14. Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,

We were happy to have your leave on comment on our class blog. I hate to inform you that we are not a mountain, it is just part of our village name.

I have 2 questions for you. What did you get the digital voice award badge for? We are just starting podcasting, and we wonder if you won an award for a podcasting?

Your blog looks great, and we will be back to visit again soon.

    Mr. Carson and Class

  15. @ Coleman,

Thank you for leaving a comment on our blog! We really liked your blog. One of the things we liked was your poll. We also liked feeding your pets.

Mrs. Yollis says that good blogs have outstanding writing. We noticed that you use high level vocabulary. For example, you used the word periodically when you said how often you'd be visiting us! Nice word choice!

Have you visited any other blogs that Miss W. said were worth visiting? If so, please let us know!

    Sincerely,
    Jaden, Ben, and Mrs. Y♥llis

  16. @ Mr. Carson,

Thanks so much for you nice comment! It was surprising to hear that Mt. Pleasant is not a mountain! Yes, sometimes names can be deceiving. We were thinking...since your village has no elevation, maybe the name should be changed to Pleasant Plains! What do you think of our idea? :-)

You asked about the Digital Voice Award. Digital Voice Awards (DVA) are given out in the county of Los Angeles to recognize innovative digital projects. We have won five DVAs including one for Best Overall Project for an Elementary School. We are quite proud of our accomplishments! We have done podcasts, but haven't won any awards for them.

Have you done any videos with your students?

    Sincerely,
    Jaden and Mrs. Y♥llis
