♥ Valentine Sing-along ♥

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mrs. Yollis and her class collaborated with a teacher friend Mr. de Haan in Seattle, Washington, to record a song just for you. Together, yet miles apart, they created a heart-felt Valentine song!

The lyrics are below, so sing-along with us!

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it
Love was made for me and you!

Thank you Mr. de Haan for being our accompanist!

Los Angeles to Seattle is approximately 960 miles.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today we recorded a special Valentine's Day song! We hope you enjoy our singing!

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please don't break it
Love was made for me and you!

Thank you Mrs. Boyd for being our accompanist!

We celebrated throughout the day. First, Royce's mom put a fruit medley together using red fruit donated by class members.

Students passed out their valentines. Many students wrote the valentine names in cursive! Ooh la la!

At the end of the day, Mrs. Yollis said that students could open their valentines or have free-time.

Many students opted to build tessellations. A tessellation is flat design that tessellates. That means that the shapes fit together with NO GAPS and NO OVERLAPS!

This beauty has been growing for two days!

Some students added dots to this growing equilateral triangle pattern.

As we started to get Valentine's Day comments about our L-O-V-E song, students started commenting back!

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King!

Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Last year, Mr. B. accompanied the class as they honored Dr. King with a song.
Listen and enjoy!

Below are the words to sing along!

Once there was a man named King, Alleluia.
They called him Martin Luther King,  Alleluia
King was wise and he was good, Alleluia.
He believed in brotherhood, Alleluia.

CHORUS:
Martin Luther King,
Freedom was his dream.
Martin Luther King,
Freedom was his dream.

Martin’s eyes were colorblind, Alleluia.
For he loved people of every kind, Alleluia.
He had a dream for you and me, Alleluia.
He knew that all men must be free, Alleluia.

CHORUS

    Thank You 2KM, 2KJ, and B4!

We got some fabulous Christmas presents from our blogging buddies! First, 2KM and 2KJ sent us this clever story called
    Santa's Blogging Adventure.
Not only was the story well-written, but the hand drawn illustrations were incredible. The story includes Santa stops to the classrooms of  Mr. Salsich, Mrs. Watson, Mrs. McKenzie, and Mr. Avery's. So entertaining! To hear the story, head on over to Mr. Avery's class. They did a great reading of the story!

Just as we were about to leave on vacation, we received another surprise parcel from Down Under! A holiday card and some Pineapple Lumps from Mrs. McKenzie and B4. No one had ever heard of Pineapple Lumps, but Mrs. McKenzie said they are very popular in New Zealand! They were delicious!

We want to thank our blogging buddies and wish them a very Merry Christmas! Here is a song we recorded for you!
