ReplyDeleteI love the Suessville website! I think it is important to remember Dr. Seuss. I love all of his books because they most are fun and funny to read. (Some are not as funny but I still like them anyway. ) I would like to compliment you guys on your Horton pictures, they are amazing!

Since we figured out how old Dr. Seuss would be in class, I am not going to spill the beans. Instead, I am going to let someone else figure it out. Can you figure out his age?
Honestly, I do not have a favorite Dr. Seuss book or character. I can't choose between any Dr. Seuss book since they are all so fine, but the characters that compliment the book? I can't even name my top three favorites! What I'm trying to say is that I can't choose between all the amazing characters. Who is your favorite character and why? Can you tell me your favorite book by Dr. Seuss and why you like it?

DeleteI am having fun celebrating his body of work. His stories fit in nicely as we start poetry because he writes in verse! Love it!
I love Horton Hears a Who! quite a bit. It has a wonderful message about how we all matter. I hadn't been to Whoville since I was a little girl, and it was a fun place to be! Mrs. Minicozzi's art lesson was the frosting on the cake! (Do you know what that idiom means?)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is "Horton Hatches The Egg". I like "Horton Hatches The Egg" because it is silly for an elephant to hatch an egg. Did you like my Horton drawing? How many Dr Seuss books did you read when you were growing up?

DeleteI don't recall Horton Hatches the Egg. I'm guessing that Horton finds the egg and sits on it to hatch it. After all, an elephant is a mammal and gives birth to live young, not eggs. However, Dr. Seuss was fanciful.

DeleteHorton takes care of the egg while the mother bird gets food. Horton finds it on the floor after it falls out of the nest. You should read it, it’s a laugh. It is surprising that a bird mixed with a elephant came out of the egg! Have you read Horton Hatches the Egg?

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Dr. Seuss Book is Green Eggs and Ham. I have the book Green Eggs and Ham and my mom used to read it to me when I was a baby.
It is about a cat that does not want to eat green eggs and ham. I love how everything in the book rhymes. It is very funny.
Have you ever eaten green eggs and ham? It sounds disgusting.

DeleteI think I know what Dr. Seuss' message was in Green Eggs and Ham. His message was to always be open to try new things. In the case of Green Eggs and Ham, Sam-I-Am is trying to get an animal to try green eggs and ham. During the story, Sam-I-Am and the animal are going to various places where Sam-I-Am is trying to persuade the animal into trying the new food dish. In the end, the animal tries the green eggs and ham and likes them! If you have a different opinion on what the moral of the story is, can you tell me what you think Dr. Seuss' is trying to say? Please also write about another Dr. Seuss book and what you think the moral of the story is in that book.

ReplyDeleteHello! My name is the Lorax and I am from the book The Lorax. Dr. Seuss was also the creator of me and I am happy to save all of the Truffula Trees. That is what my trees were called, and they had fluffy little pom-poms at the tip of the trunk. Sadly, in the middle of the story, there was only one left because somebody had cut it down. I am not going to completely let the cat out of the bag, but I suggest that you read The Lorax.
The character that I hate the most is the Grinch because I enjoy the jolly Christmas season, while the Grinch tries to ruin everybody's cheerful mood. Even though the Grinch was born before me, I still detest him. Just by the looks of him, he looks evil and mischievous. 1957 is the Grinch's birthday, and my birthday is 1971. Unfortunately, he is "only" 14 years older than me. I still think that I am more useful than the Grinch.
What I think is strange is that Dr. Seuss is usually the one who writes the books, but the book Fish Out of Water is only WRITTEN by Helen Palmer Geisel, his wife. It is illustrated by P. D. Eastman. I would have thought that it was illustrated by Dr. Seuss. I have read Fish Out of Water, and I think it is a marvelous story! Have you read Fish Out of Water?

you can use food coloring on it? Anyway, my favorite character is the Cat in the Hat. I thought this book was a tongue twister, for example, "a slink was in a sink".
The other characters I like are Thing One and Thing Two, because they are the clean up crew in the book!
I think the message behind "The Cat in the Hat", is that you should always keep your mind open and try something new,
because you never know if you'll like it or not unless you try it.

I also like how he saves the trees. The trufalow trees were so pretty. I wish trufalow trees were real as I would like one.
I am going to save trees by telling people not to cut them. Do you like trufalow trees? If so, what color tree do you like the best?

ReplyDeleteMy favorite character is the baby bird from, Are You My Mother. It all started by a mother that laid an egg and she said, "Oh my egg is going to be hungry, my baby bird will hatch." My favorite part is when the baby bird past her mother when she was trying to get a worm.
