ReplyDeleteI loved the Mexican Hat Dance! All though, it was a little ac-ward when the camera came by! I think the dance was HARDEST at first because we just learned the dance. Then the dance was a little less HARDER. After about three tries the dance was not HARD at all.
I think that it is really nice of the Reach Rocketeers to make a video of a dance in Spanish just because we are learning Spanish!

I am in dance class, and I think that it is so much fun to dance. When you were little did you dance? When I grow up I want to be a dancer.

ReplyDeleteWe loved dancing with partners! Our partners were Sammy and Joshua. Aidans' partner was Joshua and Rexons' partner was Sammy. We both thought that it was hard, but we couldn't catch up. You and Mrs. Ranny told us we had to dance if we wanted the fiesta. We both really wanted to eat, so we just danced.
After recess we had the fiesta. At the fiesta there were about five moms serving. The food we ate was soft tacos (tortillas). In the soft tacos the choices were: meat, turkey meat, salsa, tomato sauce, tomatoes, and lettuce. We can also have chips with salsa (the chips were the best also the tacos). We love Mexican food especially: tacos, burritos, tamales, enchiladas, and chips and salsa.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this post. The Mexican Hat Dance looked like a lot of fun. I also liked the previous post about the book Pepita Talks Twice. We have a few books with some Spanish in them in our classroom. They are by Gary Soto. Two are picture books called Chato Goes Cruisin' and Chato in the Kitchen. The othet one is a chapter book called The Cat's Meow. They are very fun to read, and you can usually use the text clues to infer what the Spanish means, but there is also a glossary at the back.
Also, thank you for including the keyboard shortcuts for typing in Spanish! I've often wondered how to add the upside down question marks and exclamation points on the computer. I think it makes a lot of sense to have that type of punctuation at the beginning of a sentence - it especially helps with fluent reading.
Finally, the weather song from your friends in Mississippi was fantastic! What a great way to learn more Spanish.

ReplyDeleteI would love to hear more about your puppy mabe you could put a holliday post and include him. I'm sorry about the light blue letters I will change it as soon as possible. I have had a great Easter so far I have woken up and found all my special Easter treats on my bed. My family are meeting friends at a ski center at Avimore. It's going to be a great day.

ReplyDeleteI can remember doing the Mexican Hat Dance when I was a student. It was fun and very easy to learn.
Your dance reminded me of something. In the last couple years on a class, when I was on playground duty one task was to make certain all students were wearing hats when we were in the hotter summer season. I started wearing a large Mexican sombrero when on playground duty. Seeing me walking towards them, students without hats would realise and go to get their hats if they had forgotten to wear one. Some other teachers said they’d be too embarrassed to wear such a hat. I found it was great on hot days as I was walking around in my own portable shade. :)
Another old favourite Spanish fun song of mine is the following…

I know there have been a number of versions of this song but I think this was the most traditional. When did I first hear it? I think it was in a cartoon or film once. It’s one of those types of songs once in your mind is hard to get out.
The “El Tiempo” performance was also wonderful to watch. Singing songs in another language is a great way of learning some words and how they sound.
