  2. Dear Mrs. Yollis' Class,

I hope you all had a fun and exciting Halloween. I remember how much I loved Halloween when I was your age. My favorite costume was the time I dressed up as a baby. It was so easy to make my costume because I got to wear my pajamas, put my hair in pigtails and drink lemonade out of a baby bottle. My favorite candy is Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and my least favorite candy, well... I just don't have a least favorite!

    Best,

    Dana

  3. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I had fun at the Halloween party in the classroom. I especially liked the "spooktacular" activities. I enjoyed watching the video that you posted and I really like your choice of music, Monster Mash!

My favorite part of Halloween is wearing a costume and seeing all the decorations while trick or treating with friends.

I wore a pirate costume and Hannah was Hermione from Harry Potter.

My favorite candy is Crazy Cores Skittles and my least favorite is Jaw Breakers.

    Sincerely,
    Leila♥

  4. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I enjoyed watching the PhotoPeach. It reminded me of our Halloween party last year in your classroom.

My favorite part of Halloween is sorting and swapping candy with Leila and my friends.

As Leila mentioned, I was dressed as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. I actually just finished the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series which helped me figure out my costume.

My favorite candy is Crazy Cores Skittles just like Leila. My least favorite is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

    Warmly,
    Hannah

  5. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I had a great time exploring my neighborhood and getting treats on Halloween. The best part was when I saw this guy dressed in underwear with suspenders and a huge wig. IT WAS FUNNY! My costume was the Grim Reaper. I wore a mask, gloves and I carried a scythe. My favorite candy is a Twix Bar and my least favorite, well, anything with coconut. I had a really great time getting treats.

    Sincerely,

    Sammy

  6. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,
My favorite part of Halloween is getting to eat all the delicious candy.

I wore a vampire costume with fangs in my mouth. My mom thought that I looked really cool.

I went trick or treating with my friend. My mom and my friend's mom came too. It was a lot of fun and my friend and I got lots of candy!

My favorite candy is Hershey's milk chocolate and my least favorite are tarts.

What did you do for Halloween?
Did you go trick or treating?
    What is your favorite candy?

    From,
    Atrina

  7. Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,

I had a great time visiting your classroom during your Halloween party. I loved sitting at Maya's desk with all of her friends. I made a marshmallow spider with eight legs and four eyeballs... it was really spooky!

    Roman (Maya's little brother)

  8. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

I had a great time trick-or-treating on Halloween. My friends came over for dinner and then we got our costumes on. I wore a fiery phoenix costume. It is a mythical bird that is on fire. My little brother Roman dressed as Captain America.

There were a few really decorated houses in my neighborhood. I really liked the maze at a house with a giant lit up pumpkin.

I got loads of candy! Sixty three pieces in all. My favorite candy is Kit Kat because they are two little bars covered in chocolate with cookie in the middle. I don't really like Snickers so I gave them to my Dad.

I hope you had a great Halloween. Did anybody get more candy than sixty three? If you did, how much did you get?

    From your classmate,
    Maya

  9. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

Halloween is not my favorite holiday. First of all... my family dressed me in silly Halloween PJ's and chased me around the house laughing! Then, lot's of people came in scary costumes and knocked loudly at my door. When I barked at them, I got in trouble. Maya and Roman brought home lot's of treats and didn't even share any with me! Oh well... there's always my birthday. It's coming up on December 5th. I'll be 2 years old and I hope I get a really big bone.

    Your furry friend,
    Jasper (Maya's Corgi)

  10. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

I really love decorating our house on Halloween. We have ghosts hanging from our ceiling, skeletons in every corner and lot's of spooky candles. I like to have parties to share our house with our friends and family. I love to bake and made lot's of spooky treats like pumpkin sugar cookies, pumpkin pie, orange marshmallow pops, caramel apples and mini cupcakes. We even had a Halloween Bingo party with lot's of Maya's friends.

I dressed up as Hermione Granger and Maya's Dad dressed up as Harry Potter. Harry Potter is our favorite movie series and we had a lot of fun pretending to be the characters.

I didn't get to trick-or-treat, but will be stealing some of Maya's candy after she goes to bed.

    Your friend,
    Lori (Maya's Mom)

  11. Dear Mrs Yollis and class,

Happy Halloween to each and everyone of you!

Here in Australia Halloween really is not as big like it is where you are.

However is saying this I did get a chance to dress up for a Halloween party. I went as a very sick looking bride.

I never did receive any treats unfortunately. :(

    From your pal,
    AA.

    Dear Jasper,

I hate Halloween too. This was my first Halloween with Ellie. At least I was sick. I missed inside. I live outside and it is boring. I used to jump on the garbage and bark at Charlie.

Well here are some fact about me:
∆ I am gray and black.
∆ I am afraid of balls.
    ∆ trick-or-treaters scare me!

    My favorite candy is star-burst.

Acacia:I to had a good time trick-or-treating. I was a white ninja. My favorite candies are lolly-pops and skittles.

    Dear Mrs. Yollis' class,

We are Royce's fish. We really like your blog.

We didn't dress up for Halloween. We just wanted to go to the top of our bowl and eat the fish food that Royce gave us. We do not have a fish house so instead we just swam around all night long. We do not have eyelids so we never blink and we never sleep. Do you love halloween like Royce does?

  16. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I had a great time at the Halloween Party. It was a lot of fun to make the spider web. I also liked that my mom, sister and brother came to visit.

My Halloween wasn't the best one because I broke two of my fingers playing tether ball after the party. I didn't tell my mom so she took me to gymnastics class for four hours. Even my coaches didn't realize that I was hurt. I did all my routines pretty well except for bars. When I got home my fingers were blue and purple and swollen. Then my mom realized that they were probably broken. :(

  17. Conner (Leila's dog)November 2, 2011 at 6:52 PM

    Dear Jasper,

I do not like Halloween either.

First of all, nobody plays with me. Second of all, nobody trick or treats at our house so I don't get to bark at anyone! I am thankful that my family does not dress me up in silly Halloween PJ's because I sure wouldn't like it! My younger sisters brought home a lot of candy and they didn't share any with me either. At least I was asleep! You're probably asking how did I figure out that they had a lot of candy? Well here is your answer, the next day I jumped on the couch and saw all of Leila and Hannah's candy and started eating some of it. Of course my family didn't appreciate that and ran toward me screaming for me to stop.

My birthday has already passed, it was October 28th. I got zero presents!

How many presents would you like to get for your birthday?

    Sincerely,
    Conner (Leila's dog)

  18. Dear Captain,

Glad to hear that you hate Halloween too! Hope you can come over for a puppy playdate again soon! Maybe Ellie can come along and play with Maya. Maya said she will put on Snoopy for us to watch.

  21. @ Conner,

Of course nobody would give you candy especially chocolate because you're a dog! You are also not supposed to bark at people or you will scare them away. What costume would you like to wear the next Halloween? I am thinking of dressing you up in a bee costume. Do you like it? You will look very cute!

    Sincerely,
    Sarah and Leila

  22. Minoo (Leila's aunt)November 4, 2011 at 11:38 AM

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,

My favorite part of Halloween when my children were younger, was dressing them up in their costumes and taking them trick or treating. Now that they are older and no longer live with me, my favorite part of Halloween is giving out candy to the trick or treaters in our neighborhood. It is really fun to see all their wonderful costumes, some are truly creative!

I did not wear a costume this year, so no creativity there!

My favorite candy is Kit Kat and my least favorite are Reese's Peanut Butter cups.

    Sincerely,
    Minoo (Leila's aunt)

  23. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I really enjoyed watching the little video you put together to show the Halloween party. It was a very fun time!

I am not sure which activity was most exciting. Making the little spider web was pretty fun and challenging. Jordyn still has hers in her bedroom and it is the only spider allowed in my house! We also enjoyed the treats. Yum.

Looking forward to many more fun parties in the months ahead.

    Thank,
    Lauren (Jordyn's mom)

    Dear Mrs. Yollis' Class,

I don't like Halloween because it keeps people from playing with me.
You should recognize my name because I'm a star on the blog......Well maybe not that much of a star. Maybe Halloween gets you candy, but it could also get you sick! Also.....well... that's all I guess. Salut tout le monde!(See you soon my friend in French)

  25. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Bark! Bark! This is Champ, Ryan's dog. I am very lucky because I have many trick or treaters to bark at! It is tempting not to nibble at one of Ryan's Kit Kats...but I am allergic to chocolate. I would love to give you Ryan's Almond Joys, but he already ate them all! Besides Almond Joys, what are your favorite candies? Mine, like Ryan's are Kit Kats!

Many of the costumes I saw were beautiful, such as a princess, and others were spooky such as a wizard. One person was even a scary zombie.

Halloween is a time to bark and eat treats. That is why I think Halloween is awesome!
    From,
    Champ

  26. Ryan(your former student)November 8, 2011 at 6:52 PM

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,

This was probably my favorite halloween ever! I was a soldier for halloween! My favorite candy that I got was a king-sized Kit Kat from my house! I live in a gated neighborhood, so we have a lot of trick or treaters for halloween. For decoration, we got a giant blow-up skull, 3 styrofoam graves, a witch, a glow-in-the-dark skeleton, a live-size card board cut out of Jack Sparrow, some pirate music playing, a treasure chest to put candy in, and many other small things.

My least favorite candy is Milky Way Midnight.

    Ryan

  27. Dear Mrs. Yollis' class,

My name is Faun. I am in EDM310 at the University of South Alabama. It looks like your class had a very spooky Halloween party. The marshmallow spiders looked scary, and delicious. I did not dress up for Halloween, but my son dressed up as a skunk. He looked so funny! I have had so much fun learning about your class. Keep up the good work.

    Sincerely,
    Faun
