A Postcard From Panania, New South Wales, Australia!

Our classroom received a breathtaking postcard from Panania, Australia. We think it is a community in Sydney.

   
 A fact about Australia is that Britain (United Kingdom), established Sydney as a prison colony during in the 1780s.  In the postcard the water looks very refreshing, clear, and beautiful! We both would absolutely love to swim in that water! In the background there are magnificent trees, green grass, blue sky. We would like to thank 6G for this wonderful postcard!

A Postcard From Geelong, Victoria, Australia!

Geelong, Victoria, Australia

A few weeks ago, our class received a breathtaking postcard from our blogging buddies, 2KM and 2KJ  who live in Geelong, Australia. An amazing fact about Geelong is that it is the second largest city in Victoria. Geelong is the home of Victoria’s oldest newspaper, the Geelong Advertiser which started in 1840! It also became a city in 1910.



It was exciting to get a post card from them because they are special friends. In fact, we are Quad Blogging Buddies with them! 

We are wondering about the sculptures in the post card. Can anyone from 2KM and 2KJ tell us about them? They look like shark fins.

What is the population of Geelong?

This week, Mrs. Yollis' class is learning about poetry! 

When reading a poem aloud it is important to:

1. Practice reading the poem in a clear voice.

2. Change the sound of your voice to help express the idea of the poem.

3. Pause a little at the end of each line. Pause longer at punctuation marks.

4. Look up at your listeners whenever you can.

Family Blogging Month Winner ~ Hannah Demonstrates Karate!

Three New Student Blogs!

Last month, Adia, Miriam, and Hannah were the top winners for our bi-annual Family Blogging Month extravaganza! (Extravaganza is a fancy word that means an elaborate and spectacular production.)

Each girl earned their own blog and today...they are launching their spectacular blogs!

A big thank you goes out to the parents of our student bloggers. Parents are the administrators of each student blog and have been learning right alongside their child.  Well done parents!
