ShapeGram Fun! Thanks Tony!

Mrs. Yollis' class loves ShapeGrams! Creating digital drawings with ShapeGrams is a wonderful way to learn about geometry, muster some technology skills and shortcuts, be creative, and have some fun! Tony Vincent created ShapeGrams and he brings humor and an amazing skill set to each creation.

Mrs. Yollis is not being paid to promote ShapeGrams.

Here is a collaborative slideshow featuring our most recent digital drawings. Some have a spooky Halloween theme!

Which  ShapeGrams creation did you like the best and why?

What is your favorite ShapeGram tip? What makes it so useful?

  1. Mrs. Yollis' Class,

I loved the creativity that everyone had when making their Shape Grams! There are so many different shapes and designs. Some houses were very spooky just in time for Halloween! Molly will have to show me how to make a Shape Gram and also how to take a picture of the screen!

    Happy Halloween Week,

    Lindsay (Molly's Mom)

  2. Molly,

I enjoyed looking at your shape gram and thought you did a very good job of using different shapes in your picture. The pumpkin was a nice added touch. It really makes the picture festive. I look forward to the next shape gram.

    Best,
    Joe (Molly's Dad)

Hi Lucas (and the gang from Mrs. Yollis' class),

That was so much fun learning about ShapeGrams! I loved looking at all the creative pictures your class made and yours was especially spooky...great for Halloween time!

I just got through watching the tutorial on how to make the emoji ShapeGram and I think I did a pretty good job recreating it. I will have to show you tomorrow during the day and you can be the judge if I did a good job making my 1st ShapeGram. I'd love to make one together, what do you think?
    Love,
    Carolyn (Lucas' mom) :)

I love the ShapeGram post! It is fun to make all kinds of stuff using shapes. It is also, very interesting to see many people’s creative houses and other cool things they make.

Thank you, Tony, for making Shape Grams for people to enjoy.

Jasmine, I loved your creation! How long did it take you to make your post for the spooky ShapeGrams?

    From,

  5. Dear class,

I love ShapeGrams! My favorite one was the Halloween slide. My favorite was using the shapes to make the cat and the pumpkin because Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.

Thank you! Tony, for making ShapeGrams for people to enjoy and explore a new way of creating.

  6. Dear Class,

I like that each design was unique in this slideshow!

My favorite one was Tyler’s on slide 25. I liked that we both made a black hole! It was fun to see someone else try to make something similar. I also liked that two things can be close but so different at the same time.

Tyler, why did you choose to make a black hole?

    Warmly,
    Lucas

  7. Dear class,

I loved the Halloween shapegram! I really liked that they were all different!

I liked Noah's blog creation because the house looked like the sky and I also liked the color of the house. Also, I liked that the house was being shot with lightening and the star.

Noah, how did you do the gate?

    From,
    Molly

    1. Hi Molly-

I used trapezoids and rectangles to make the gate. I liked your shapegram too. I like the spider on the grass.

  8. Dear Class,

I like every single art piece, but I like Asher’s best.

I like Asher’s the best because I like how he says “ you shall not pass” and “ a great fit for royalty.” I think that his is very interesting, spectacular, and very clever. I wonder if anyone helped him make it?

Asher, where did you get that awesome idea? How many shapes did you use?

How many minutes did it take?

Did anything inspire you to make that beautiful artwork? The biggest question I have for you is,why did you make it ???

    Sincerely,

    Ava

  9. Hi Noah and Mrs. Yollis' class!
These shapegrams are super cool. I loved seeing the creativity with all of the designs and colors.

Noah - I really liked the lightening bolts you used. They helped to create a stormy feeling to your slide.

Jasmine - Your slide was great as well. I liked how yours was definitely more of a happy Halloween slide instead of a scary one.

What inspired both of you to use the shapes that you did? How did you pick the colors too?

    Great work everyone.

    Keep up the good work,
    Lauren (Noah's mom!)

  10. Hi Ori (and class),
I loved to see your work on shapes gram. You created fun and beautiful Halloween artifacts from basic shapes - so creative! I also loved that you were able to create it using technology. I can tell you from my experience that when I was your age, we had something similar to ShapeGrams app and doing creations such as this made me realize how much I love to design and create things. This is something I have been doing from a young age.

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween !
