Mathletics Mania!

Our school is using Mathletics on a free trial basis until June 12th,
the last day of school.

It is a great site for practicing the 3rd grade standards and for competing against
 students all over the world!

We were so excited that friends, Mrs. Ranney and Mrs. Chalfin were recently
placed in the Top 50 Classes
 in the U. S. A.
We have been working diligently on our math, and we made it to the Top 50 as well!
Way to go!

What countries have you played?

What parts of Mathletics do you like the best?
Have you earned any certificates?

  2. Dear Mrs Yollis' class,

Mathletics is very popular at Leopold Primary School. All students have a subscription and we spend time each week working on tasks. Many students also use Mathletics at home and during their free time or lunchtime at school.

The most popular element of Mathletics is the Live Mathletics. One tip I often give students is to challenge yourself. If you practise simple sums like 1+1 and 2+1 all the time then you're unlikely to improve your maths skills!

Perhaps we'll see you on Live Mathletcs sometime! We usually play students from Australia, New Zealand or Asian countries as our time zones are most similar.

Many students in 4KM and 4KJ have earnt certificates however it is quite rare to earn a gold certificate. Adam earnt one just last week which was quite an achievement. Have any of your students earnt a gold certificate?

    Keep having fun with Mathletics!

    Best wishes,
    Mrs M☀rris

PS - have you noticed that you say math and we say maths?

  3. Dear Miss Yollis,

Hi, my name is Phoenix and in year 3 at Mount Scopus in Australia. I think it’s really exciting how you might start using Mathletics. On Mathletics I really like the place value games and its really easy to learn how to play.

On Mathletics there’s another website I love called Spellodrome that teaches you how to spell. Not just that but there’s also fun games on it like a wordsearch! There are a lot of fun things on it and if you get it I think you’ll enjoy it.
