Congratulations Family Blogging Month Winners!

Each blogger received a free kid's meal to a local restaurant, a fabulous crown to wear, and a free choice post on Mrs. Yollis' Classroom Blog!

Mrs. Yollis created the idea of Family Blogging Month back on April 1, 2010. The participation, the quality of the commenting, the interaction and learning that transpired via this classroom blog makes Mrs. Yollis beam with pride.

Not only are her students and their family members becoming superior writers, but they are also honing important digital skills like how to communicate and contribute online, how to limit personal information on the Internet, and how to develop a dynamic digital footprint. (To hone is a fancy verb that means to improve over time.)

Mrs. Yollis would like to personally thank all the parents and family members for their constant support. Your participation is the key to your child's educational success!

  1. @ Mrs. Yollis and class,

    Happy New Year!

I loved family blogging month! It was fun to invite family members to blog and to see what they wrote.

I blogged and so did my Mom, Dad, brothers (Lucas and Aidan), dogs (Babe and London), Grammy, Grampy, grandma, aunts, uncle and cousins.

Besides California, my family commented from New York, London and Arizona.

I also loved reading my fellow classmates comments and their families comments.

    Cheers,
    Lily

    1. @ Lily,

Congratulations on your Family Blogging Month win! You and your family were excellent contributors, and we learned so much from their fabulous comments.

What advice could you give to others? How were you able to get so many family members to participate?

      Your proud teacher,
      Mrs. Y♥llis

    2. @ Mrs. Yollis and Class,

My advice is to do your comments with your hands on the home row of the keyboard even if you don't know all of the letters.Try to do your best every time.

I had several of my family members participate by emailing my aunts, uncles, cousins and grand parents.I also told my parents and brothers at dinner.

      Cheers,
      Lily
