Olive who?
Olive you!

  1. Thank you for your wonderful Valentine's Day Greeting. It is rather special to me as I was married 35 years ago, today, Valentine's Day, 14th February.
I teach in Australia, and when we got married, Valentine's Day was not really celebrated then. So, we did not even realise that it was such a special day. Now, my husband should not forget our anniversary as it is such a special day. Happy Valentine's Day to you too.

  2. @ Murcha,

Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine's Day too! Wow! 35 years of marriage...love it!

My husband and I got married late in life and just celebrated our 8th. We always remember our wedding date because...it is Groundhog Day here in America, February 2!

Let Me Call You Sweetheart is a family favorite. My grandmother used to always sing it and now we all do...including my class!

Hope you and your husband had a lovely day!

  3. Dear Mrs Y♥llis and Gr♥de 3

Happy Valentine's Day to you all as well ♥.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day in school in New Zealand, although some people do give roses, chocolates or presents to their loved ones.

Mr M♔Kenzie often cooks my dinner for me, but tonight he made a new dish, so that felt very special for me.

I hope you all have a l♥vely day.

  4. @ Mrs M♔Kenzie,

Happy Valentine's Day to you! Yes, Mrs. Morris told me that Valentine's Day is not really celebrated in Australia or in New Zealand.

It actually is still Feb. 13 where I am, but I look forward to a fun day at school tomorrow! :-) The kids are always so excited!

  5. Dear Mrs Yollis and your lovely singers,
    You all sang so beautifully!

    Happy Valentine's Day.

    Your song choice was perfect.
I showed BB and Paul and they thought it was rather cute.

I have had a lovely day with Paul getting me a box of chocolates and BB eating them.

    How was your Valentine's Day?

    Enjoy this special day.

  6. Dear Mrs. Yollis' Class,

Thanks for sharing that lovely Valentine's Day song with us. You were all so enthusiastic and animated! I liked the percussion instruments and the giant heart right in the front.

We will have a Valentine's Day party this afternoon. It is a fun day to share treats and goodies. As my student Amanda would say, I hope you have a fantabulous day!

What a great way to start the day. I had to be up very early today (4:45am) to get some work done and when I opened my email....there was a little surprise! I opened the link and had a great start to my day. The whole class singing to me! You did a great job everyone!

Thank you so much for sharing your song with us! I know your song brought smiles to so many faces, including mine!

I'm glad that Mrs. Yollis is able to sing with you. I know if I sang with my class, I'd probably break the screen of my camcorder!

Thanks for all your continued hard work. Your blog is always a bright spot in my day!

  11. @Gracie's Mom,

Thank you so much for commenting on the class blog. It was exciting to see that we had so many well written comments.

It was fun filming the Valentine's Day song, but it was hard to get Mrs. Yollis' computer to start to film! It was very funny and frustrating at the same time...

    @Ileanna's mom,

We are glad that you liked our video. It must have been hard to get up at 4:45 A.M. for work. We both would have fallen asleep!

Thanks for your lovely sentence about us as Disney Channel Stars!

You both get better at commenting every day!

    Did you know that song?

    Warmly,

  12. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I liked the video very much! I thought it was a little silly but I enjoyed the good singing and rhyming lyrics. You might also like a post we put on out blog about our Valentine's Day Bags. I wish that we had learned that song in class.

I like Valentine's Day because you get lots of cards and presents. At my house we have a Valentine Fairy who gives me clothes, stickers, and books for Valentine's Day. I also get presents from my grandparents and sisters. I only get 5 or less presents and always get more from Santa and the Easter Bunny.

  13. @ Mr. Salsich,

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. What did you do at your Valentines's Day party?

I love to eat and devour the yummy cookies. My favorite cookie was one that was a heart and smeared with tons of pink frosting. What was your favorite cookie? You were right about us having a fantaboulous day!(sort of). We had a fabulous day, but what is fantabulous?

  14. @ Mom,

    I like Valentines Day too!:)
When I woke up in the morning I saw two bags on the table. I wondered what would be in the bags? After you came down stairs you told who's bag was who's. I tore open the bag and saw a heart shaped peanutbutter cup.
    So Happy Valentines Day!:)

    Tucker

Thank you for the nice comment. I was surprised that you don't celebrate Valentine's Day in New Zealand. I was also surprised that your husband made a special dinner for you.

    What was the new dish?

  16. @ AA,

Thanks for leaving a comment. I also want to thank you for calling us beautiful singers! I think the song was cute too.Our Valentine's Day was great. Did BB love the chocolate? What kind of chocolate was it? Did you get to eat some? Did BB eat all of them?
p.s. What does down under mean?

  17. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Happy Valentines Day! I think the poem we did was fabulous.

My mom did't get to watch the video, but I will ask her if she can watch it.

My favorite part of the poem was let me call you sweet heart I'm in love with you.

What is your favorite part in the poem?

    Your student,
    Nicole

  18. @ Margot,

Thanks for a ♥ly comment! We put a lot of enthusiasm into our song and I'm glad you liked it!

Wow, I've never heard of the Valentine Fairy. I wish I'd met her when I was little. Mr. Yollis gave me a delicious box of my favorite Sees chocolates...Bordeaux! I'm a little embarrassed to say...they're almost gone!

    You are a wonderful commenter!

    @ Nicole,

Thanks so much for all of your comments and enthusiasm! You are becoming a terrific commenter like Margot.

I really love that song because my Grandma Smillie used to always sing it, and it makes me happy to hear it. I hope you show it to your mom. She'll love it!

    Your valentine,
