Skype: Show-and-Tell Party With 2KM!

The school year is about to end for Mrs. Yollis' class. They have skyped with Miss McGeady's class a couple of times in the past, however because of the current time zones, they could not Skype during school hours. Due to the enthusiasm of the students and the support of parents, all hope was not lost! Today 2KM came to school one hour early and Mrs Yollis’ class stayed back from school late for a special Skype session.

What fun!

Here it is on Vimeo!

Thank you, Kayla, for being our class photographer!  :-)

What did you think of the party?

  3. Dear Mrs Yollis,

Wow, what a great Skype session you had with 2KM! I was next door in my classroom and I saw some of your special "Skype party"...it looks like everyone had so much fun!

The video you made is wonderful and well done to Kayla for taking all of the photos!

I could smell the pancakes cooking in 2KM's classroom and your pizza would have been delicious I'm sure! American pizza is quite different to our pizza, when I went to New York I was surprised at how big and flat the slices are!

What was the most interesting show and tell item from 2KM?

Enjoy the last few weeks of school before your Summer break! :)

  6. Dear Mrs. Yollis & Mrs. McGeady,

What a wonderful friendship you have forged between your classes. It is so sad that our school year will be ending, but wouldn't it be great to make this an annual event so we can continue to stay in touch and watch each other grow.

Thank you both for investing in our kids. It has been a wonderful experience for them - and for all of th parents as well.

    Best,
    Barbara

  9. Dear Mrs Yollis and the class,

It was great to watch the post of you skyping with the 2KM in Australia. It is so wonderful that the kids in two countries can communicate through skype. I can see all kids had good time and enjoyed it. Paul was very excited about it when he came home that day. He said he is ready for the next one soon.

Thanks Mrs. Yollis for making this possible for the kids!

    Best,
    Jade (Paul' mom)

  10. Dear Mrs. Yollis,
I enjoyed watching the videos you have posted for the skype date your classroom had! What an inspiration! Thank you for posting and for making this happen.. I look forward to skyping with other teachers around the country. I can just imagine how much fun your students had! Thank you for incorporating technology into your classroom. It is fun, exciting, and a definite must have!!! I must ask... how were you able to hold back the students for one hour?

  11. @ Yajaira,

Thanks for you kind comment about our Skype session. You asked how I was able to hold the students for the extra hour. It was a volunteer situation. Anyone who wanted to stay, could. Many kids were excited and elected to stay!

Good luck with your own class!

    Mrs. Y♥llis
