Holiday Sing-a-long

Christmas Time is Here!

By Mr. B. (Our music teacher!)

Christmas is here, Smiles all around All is so bright, All is so bright! Santa will come, To see our town, Into the night, Into the night!

And it’s Christmastime I love, People are smiling,
Holiday singing,

There’s a good feeling

(repeat)

Christmas is here, Gifts all around, All is a=light, All is a-light!
Santa will come, To see our town, Into the night, Into the night!

And it’s Christmastime I love, People are smiling,
Holiday singing,

There’s a good feeling

(repeat)

Oh Hanukkah! Oh Hanukkah,
Come light the menorah

Let's have a party,
We'll all dance the hora

Gather round the table,
We'll give you a treat

Dreidels to play with and latkes to eat

And while we are playing

The candles are burning low

One for each night, they shed a sweet light

To remind us of days long ago

One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago

  1. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I really liked performing in the holiday show and having the party. My favorite song of the show was "Christmas Time is Here." What was your favorite song?

    Sincerely,
    Nick

  2. Dear Mrs. Yollis' class,
You performed so well in the program yesterday, as well as in the video! I was so proud of how both your class and mine sang and did the clever hand motions. Working together with your class is my pleasure, and I hope that we will do many more incredible projects together in the new year.
Happy Holidays to all of you.
    Regards,
    Mrs. Ranney

  3. Dear Mrs. Yollis,
Thank you, thank you for posting some of the holiday songs performed on the blog. It is such a great way to share the performance with our family members,
I am always so impressed by the performances that Mr. B is able to inspire out of our children!

  4. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

It was fun singing, dancing, and listening to the second graders sing at the holiday show. My favorite song is "Rockin Around the Chrismas Tree."

Our holiday party was fantastic! Making scarfs is a super clever idea, in my opinion. Just looking at those pretzels made my mouth water.

What is your favorite song? Did you make a scarf or pretzels?

    Your student,
    Kendall

  5. @ Kendall,

Yes, the music show was fantastic! Mr. B. always brings out the best in people. My favorite song at the show was "Christmastime I Love" by our own music teacher. I really love the lyrics and the melody.

I thought the the scarf idea was a great one, and yes I did get one. The scarves (plural) made everyone look festive!

    :-)

    Fondly,
    Mrs. Yollis

  7. @Sydney,

You sent your comment from the airport? Now, I am curious. Where are you? Are you coming from somewhere or going somewhere?

You asked about the show. Yes, I loved the singing, and my favorite one was the song Mr. B. wrote. However, the whole show was fabulous because everyone sang from their hearts and moved with a lot of enthusiasm. When it looks like the performers are having fun, the audience enjoys it even more.

    See you next year!
    :-)

  9. @Sydney!

You are in Hawaii right now? What a lucky girl you are! Which island are you on and what fun activities have you been doing?

I hope you have something special planned for tonight. It will be 2010 in approximately six hours from now in Los Angeles. I think it is probably 3:00 P.M. in Hawaii, so you have a little more of 2009 left.

    Aloha and Happy New Year!
    Mrs. Yollis

  11. Mrs. Yollis:

My husband and I have finally landed back in Maryland. A highlight of our month of travel was enjoying Caleb's holiday show and party. He is a lucky young man to have you for a teacher. Your enthusiasm toward learning certainly rubs off onto your students and will serve them well as they move on. And your blog keeps us in touch with Caleb!

Mr. B. has been teaching music for many, many years and I know he will be happy to hear you say such nice things about him.

You left a comment for us once before. Thanks for coming back again!

Please tell the other students in your class a tip about using Firefox as a browser. If you use Firefox, it will underline in RED any misspelled words in a comment. In addition, and this is something great, if you hold down the option and click on the underlined word, it will give you the correct spelling. I love Firefox for many reasons, and this is just one of them.

    Have a great holiday weekend!
