Thank You 2KM, 2KJ, and B4!

We got some fabulous Christmas presents from our blogging buddies! First, 2KM and 2KJ sent us this clever story called
Santa's Blogging Adventure.
Not only was the story well-written, but the hand drawn illustrations were incredible. The story includes Santa stops to the classrooms of  Mr. Salsich, Mrs. Watson, Mrs. McKenzie, and Mr. Avery's. So entertaining! To hear the story, head on over to Mr. Avery's class. They did a great reading of the story!

Just as we were about to leave on vacation, we received another surprise parcel from Down Under! A holiday card and some Pineapple Lumps from Mrs. McKenzie and B4. No one had ever heard of Pineapple Lumps, but Mrs. McKenzie said they are very popular in New Zealand! They were delicious!

We want to thank our blogging buddies and wish them a very Merry Christmas! Here is a song we recorded for you!

What was your favorite part of Santa's Blogging Adventure?

Did you enjoy your Pineapple Lump?

  1. Dear Mrs Yollis and class,

WOW I think this is a perfect way to end the year!

I just love your singing and adding your extra touch to the song.

You sure have had a wonderful year with your wonderful blogging buddies.
And to top it off you have received some wonderful gifts which makes the connection extra special.

All the very best and enjoy your Christmas holidays everyone.

Thank you Mrs Yollis for another wonderful year with you and your grade 3's. I hope to be back re visiting and connecting with you all in 2012. I am alway amazed and very thankful with the wonderful friendships which I have made and all because of blogging.

  2. Dear Mrs Yollis and Grade 3
I love your singing, 'Rudolph' is such a popular song. We don't learn many Christmas songs at school because our term finishes so early before Christmas, but we do sing 'Rudolph'.
When we sing that song in assembly we add in little bits too, but our words are a little different. The game he plays is soccer not Monopoly and instead of Pinnochio we say Fangface! I much prefer Pinnochio!

    Which words do you prefer?

I hope there were enough Pineapple lumps to go around.

    Happy holidays
    Mrs McKenzie

  3. Dear Mates,

Thank you so much for this wonderful post. It was a very touching way for 2KM and 2KJ to remember your class.

Like you, we loved the Pineapple Lumps. You can buy them here in Australia but I had never tried them until B4 sent us some.

Your singing was sublime and Beverly did a nice job with the actions.

2KM and 2KJ have had an amazing year with you all and we thank you for being one of our closest blogging buddies!

In 2012, there will be no 2KM and 2KJ, however there will be a 4KM and 4KJ. We hope you will enjoy getting to know our new students. We also hope former 2KM and 2KJ students visit your blog often!

    Your blogging buddy,
    Mrs M☀rris

    Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

  4. Hello Mrs. Yollis and class,

What a way to finish off the time before Christmas. :)

As we move towards the end of 2011, the school year ends in Australia and New Zealand. Children move on to the next grade yet will keep in their minds the fun and friendships made through blogging.

For the north, the school year is mid way. You will come back as classes once again and have the chance to meet new friends as well as renew old friendships.

To all of you who believe, have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. I hope to continue seeing such wonderful blogging so I have the chance to drop in, comment and share a little of the fun.

    Ross Mannell (teacher)
    NSW, Australia

P.S. "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" has long been a favourite of mine. :)

  5. @ Mrs Yollis and class,

    Great post.

Hi, I’m Alana from 2KM,Leopold Australia.

2KM ad 2KJ loved the video. We thought you were really good singers.

We got Pineapple Lumps too. I think our of grade loved them.

The song you sang is very popular in Australia.

It’s good that you liked the book that 2KM and 2KJ made.

2KM and 2KJ loved seeing Beverly. Was Beverly trying to dress up as Rudolph? I think 2KM and 2KJ think he was trying too.

I have my own blog and here is the link http://alanasblog.global2.vic.edu.au/ hope you like my blog.

Thanks for saying that our story was really good.

    I love your post again.

    @ Mrs. McKenzie,

We had a ball rehearsing and recording Rudolph! It is such a fun song to sing and that is hilarious that you all do the little add ons. Who is Fangface?

Thanks, again, for the delicious Pineapple Lumps! The kids and their parents enjoyed them. They are totally new to us!

Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year to you too!

    @ Mrs. Morris,

Glad you enjoyed our little song. Yes, Beverly got all dressed up as she likes to do. She's a real joiner, that one!

It will be very hard for me to get used to the new name...4KM and 4KJ. You've always been 2KM and 2KM to me! But 2012 will be time for something new! We are looking forward to connecting with your new students when you return in February.

    @ Alana,

Wow! What a terrific comment! I'm glad you enjoyed our song and thought that we were good singers. :-)

Yes, Beverly had a big red piece of tissue paper taped to her nose when we got to school. She also had a string of Christmas light around her body! She's got a lot of spirit!

Your story was so clever and the illustrations were fantastic! What a personalized gift for your blogging buddies. That is something we will never forget!

    @ Skye,

Welcome back Skye! I remember you from 2KJ! How nice that you will get to be with Miss Jordan again! You'll become an ever better blogger now that you are a bit older!

I will visit your blog and Alana's blog and leave a quality comment!

Looking forward to meeting up with you again!

    @ Maha,

Welcome to our blog! I must have met you the other day when we Skyped on your last day of school. I think that is a great idea to get to meet your teacher for the next year. We don't do that here. The list is published the day before school and the first day is the first time many meet their teachers.

I can tell that you are going to be a fabulous blogger! Good for you for jumping right in!

  10. @ Mrs Yollis, Merry Christmas to you! I am having a really hard time getting used to saying 4KM and 4KJ too. We'll have to get used to it together! Yes, Maha was the girl you talked to on Skype. She told you about her plans for the holidays.

@ Maha, I am so impressed! Look at you already leaving a comment on Mrs Yollis' blog. I know you're going to be a star blogger in 2012 and I look forward to teaching you.

    Best wishes,
    Mrs M☀rris
