  1. Dear Mrs Yollis,

How wonderful to receive your special suprise package from Jarrod.
That is so nice of him to do that!
From the looks of the photo you received some pretty awesome items.

I have formed some really amazing friendship through blogging. For each and everyone of them are so special to me and I just love it.

The people who form this special firendship with me because of blogging are Mrs Yollis, Mrs Lynch and Mrs Hembree. It really is so wonderful to think of having this special connection around the world and all because of blogging.

A huge thanks to Mrs Morris for introducing me to blogging for without her I won't have had a clue about blogging or met my special friends!

    From your friend down under,
    AA.

  2. Hello Mrs. Yollis's class,

Being from Australia myself, I recognise a number of favourites in the package. Jarrod has been very thoughful in what was chosen.

I see you also have Vegemite. It's a favourite of mine but it seems Vegemite is one of those things people wither like or not with little in between.

Enjoy your gift package from Jarrod. I know any Australian class would love what's in it too.

  3. Dear Mrs Yollis,

I just showed Jarrod this post, and his face lit up! Blogging is so terrific for student (and teacher!) learning but building special friendships is also a wonderful bonus! :)

I hope you enjoy the Vegemite! I love vegemite on toast but I know that many people in other countries think it has a strong, unpleasant flavour. I suppose it is an aquired taste!

I have no doubt you will love the Caramello Koalas and Fantales, yum!! :)

    Best wishes,
    Miss Jordan

  4. @ Mrs Yollis' class,

I'm so glad the gift arrived safe and sound.

Jarrod and his mum were very excited to tell me about the parcel they sent a week or two ago.

I think they made a good choice with the chocolates and lollies. Caramello Koalas and Fantales are delicious and popular. You can read the wrapper on the Fantales to try to guess who the celebrity is.

I'm so thankful that blogging has opened up a whole new world of friendships for my students, the parents and me.

We can't wait to hear what you think about the Vegemite. Vegemite is something that I enjoy on toast or biscuits every day!

    @ AA,

No need to thank me for introducing you to blogging. I should be thanking you for the way you have embraced it. You are a role model parent.

    Best wishes,
    Mrs M☀rris

    @ AA, (Australian mum)

Receiving this gift was a wonderful surprise! It reminded me of another special family I know from Australia! As we have said so many times, blogging has exceeded my expectation in every area, but the friendships have been priceless! My class and I feel so fortunate!

I agree with what Mrs. Morris said. You are a fantastic role model for all parents. Your participation and support of bloggers all over the world is remarkable! I mean it!

    @ Mr. Mannell, (Australian teacher)

Thanks so much for your constant support of my classroom blog and my students' blogs! Like AA, you are a loyal commenter! :-)

Yes, we are going to have a taste test of the Vegemite. I know how popular it is in Australia, and perhaps we'll get some takers here in America. I think it is looked upon like our peanut butter. Lots of people eat it on toast or as a sandwich spread.

It was a very thoughtful gift!

@ Miss Jordan and Mrs. Morris, (2KM/2KJ teachers from Australia)

Isn't it just amazing! Who knew how connected we'd all become through blogging!

I am so please that Jarrod has seen the post and was pleased. We had many happy faces here as well!

We're going to be sampling the Vegemite very soon, so we will let you know. None of the students had ever heard of it!

    We treasure your friendship!

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Y♥llis

  19. @ all of Mrs Yollis' students who left me a comment,

Thank you for leaving me comments.I'm glad you liked the Caramello Koalas', I like them too.

Jake and Jakob - I like to play chess and checkers, we call checkers draughts though. Do you like to play them? I like to play Australian monopoly too.

Alyssa and Sasha - did you know in Australia we call candy lollies.

Mia, Atrina, Leila and Alexandra - you'll have to let me know what you think of the Vegemite once you have tried. Here's a tip don't spread too much on as it may taste too salty otherwise.

Acacia and Madison - I can't wait until we are able to Skype too. I enjoyed talking to Mrs Yoliis' old class and learning all about them and America.

Etai and Sammy - I have had some American "candy" as lots of our shops sell it here.

Kelly and Jordyn - I'm glad you enjoyed them. Did you know your names together are the same as 2KJ's teacher?

Brenden and Parsa - Thank you for your kind words have you checked out my own blog? Maybe you might be able to earn your own blogs too.

Matthew and Aidan - oh how exciting, maybe it would be some American treats.

Mrs. Aguirre - I'm glad your daughter enjoyed the special treats. I have enjoyed getting to know Mrs Yollis and her class and look forward to getting to know her new class and wanted to share some of the things we like in Australia with them.

    Your new pal,
    Jarr☀d

  20. Hello Mrs. Yollis,

I was about to update our Classroom2Kids Edublog for my new Grade 2 class this September when I decided to have a little look around at what other teachers were doing. Oh my! I have now spent several hours looking at YOUR blog and website, and following some of your links! It is all so impressive!

I am excited to be starting a new year of blogging... my first attempts were in June 2010. One of my goals is to create blogs for my students instead of having to copy/paste their entries into the class blog. I visited Jarrod's blog and was blown away by what this young man has created!

Thank you for all the hints and tips you have added for both students and teachers! You have inspired me once again!

    :-)

  21. @ Bianca,

I agree with you! Blogging is awesome! I, too, have met wonderful friends through blogging: you, your mom, Mrs. Morris, Miss Jordan, Mrs. McKenzie, Mr. Salsich, Mr. Avery, Mrs. Hembree, Mr. Mannel...and the list goes on and on and on!

I remember getting that special parcel from you! What a great friend you are, Bianca!

    @ Nora B,

Thanks so much for your high praise! We love blogging and I'm glad that it shows. Jarrod is a student of Mrs. Morris and Miss Jordan. Their blog is found in our sidebar and is called 2KM and 2KJ. They set up Edublogs for their students and every one of them is fabulous!

The blogging community is a wonderful, supportive group of people! Welcome!

    Your friend,
