Mothers, Daughters, Friendship, and Blogging!

    ♥  ♥  ♥

Mrs. Yollis and her mother, Mrs. Pfau, have become friends with a mother and daughter from Australia named Bianca and AA! Even though the  mother-daughter pairs live on separate continents, a friendship has developed.

The connection began in the classroom blog comment section. In 2010, Bianca (from Mrs. Morris' 2KM blog) was turning eight, and she learned that  Mrs. Pfau was turning 80. Once Bianca found out Mrs. Pfau was becoming an octogenarian, she thoughtfully sent a birthday card across the ocean. Mrs. Pfau was so pleased, she played a birthday song for her new friend.

Listen to that birthday message here.

Bianca and AA

This year, Bianca and her mom sent a special Australian gift to Mrs. Yollis and Mrs. Pfau and in the package was a special birthday card! The package also included cute koalas, a Aussie pen, a post card, an Australian letter holder, and an Australian flag!

A classroom blog is a wonderful project filled with unexpected treasures!

What do you think about friendship?

How do you feel about the friends you've made through educational blogging?

  1. Dear Mrs Yollis,

    What a wonderful post!

I know one of the reasons AA and Bianca enjoy blogging so much is because of the quality time it allows them to spend together as mother and daughter.

I'm so glad your mum, Mrs Pfau has got into blogging too. It is never too late to learn!

One of my dear friends who I have made through educational blogging is you, Mrs Yollis! While we have never met in person, it feels like we have known each other for years and years!

Friendships are so important and like blogging, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it!

    Your friend,
    Mrs M☀rris

PS - I am still trying to get my mum to start leaving blog comments too! She does read the blog but hasn't got into commenting yet!

BB and I will always value this and to think it was last year that we both meet through blogging. Horray!for blogging.

I really love the photograph of you and your mum. It is very special to have a photo of mum and daugther together.

This is really very special and I know one thing BB and I will never forget this friendship for as long as we are here.

It's really amazing just what blogging can and does do. :)

All the best to you and your very dear mum.

Thank you for sharing, caring and growing and learning and making me part of this too.

How, true with what Mrs Morris said that friendships are really important showing that you are willing and care makes for a wonderful friendship no matter where in the world you are.

    From your blogging pal,
    AA.

  5. @ Mrs. M☀rris,

Well, it is a wonderful connection! It would not have been possible without our connection!

Blogging never ceases to amaze me. The learning posts are always there and I expect that many will learn from them, but the extra goodies that accompany the blog are so wonderful!

I echo your thoughts about friends. Although we've never met, I consider you a dear friend of mine! It feels like you work right next door to me, and I feel fortunate to have met you!

    @ Bianca,

It was a pleasure putting this blog post together! The thoughtfulness you have shown is greatly appreciated! My mom's recovery has been slow, so your card and gifts really brightened her day! You are a delight, Bianca!

    @ AA,

Many, many thanks to you for being so kind to my mom! Your thoughtfulness is appreciated!

When I took the package over to my mom, she was so moved to think that someone she'd never met had taken the time and effort to send her special "Get Well" and "Happy Birthday" wishes. It really made both of our days!

Thanks again for thinking of my mother and for all the support you give to our class blogging post! You're the best!

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Y♥llis
