Classroom Blog Challenge!

In order to improve our blogging and commenting skills, Mrs. Yollis enrolled the class in an international blogging challenge
It is a great opportunity to improve our Language Arts skills, meet other classroom bloggers, and learn from each other.

One of the first challenges was to create an avatar. An avatar is an image that is used to represent a person. Here are our classroom avatars. We used photos of our lucky hats!

Our goal this week is to visit five different blogs and leave a comment after reading a post.
We already visited Mrs. Yollis' former student's blog, Jonah's Jumbo Blog.

We hope more bloggers from the challenge visit our site.
We already got a comment from Mr. Barrett, in Iowa.Thank you Alli from Mr. Barrett's class!

The other participants are listed in our sidebar under Educational Blogs We Follow.
Have you left a comment for us? Please do!
Have you visited any of the other participants in the blog challenge

  1. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Thank you for putting our hats on your blog.I can`t believe that people
from all around the world can see our hats.

What design do you like the best?

  2. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

It was so fun making our lucky hats. We liked making our lucky hats because we got to be creative. We think Charlie's hat is cool because it has 24 googly eyes. We also liked Gal's because it was 3-D hat. What would your hat be if you made one, Mrs. Yollis?

  3. What fantastic avatars! I am sure the students had a great time making them and you have photographed them so well.

I could recognize both Charlie's and Gail's from the descriptions given by Sydney and Nick.

  4. Your blog is very impressive. We enjoyed getting a comment from you. We are working on starting a Book Club with blog participants. Would your class be interested in this?

You two are great bloggers! You always leave such thoughtful comments. I liked all the hats, but I especially liked how Gal's had a 3-D bill.
I also thought that Scarlet's orange hat looked full of luck. The unusual shape and colorful additions she included made her hat quite interesting.

  9. Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,

I love the avatars you made in class! They are all extremely different and unique, like each of you.

If I made an avatar for myself, I would probably make it in the shape of a large coffee mug. I immensely enjoy my morning coffee!

    Have a good day.

    Regards,
    Mrs. Gurian

  10. Dear Jaxon,

I am very impressed with the way your avatar hat looks almost exactly like your lucky hat from Justice. Both are pink and black plaid and very cool.

I am so happy that you have the opportunity to learn about technology this year in Mrs. Yollis' class.

    Happy Learning!

    Love,
    Your Mom (Barbara Palmer)

  11. Dear Mrs.Yollis and class,
I loved all of your hats! I also have a math problem for you.

I am reading a book with 734 pages, and the book before had 435 pages. How many more pages are in the first book than the second book.

  12. Dear Mrs.Yollis,
Hi, my name is Grace. I'm from Canada! I want to know, how does the classroom challenge work? I'm guessing that you take a picture of your students then they make a hat to put on. I'm just guessing.
