Do you have any friends with names such as Hannah, Anna, Izzi, Ava, Elle or Emme? I bet you know at least one!

Isn't the word palindrome fun? I understand Mrs. Yollis also taught you another fun language word. Onomatopoeia! Did that come up in a book? Interestingly, there are also onomatopoeias in the Chinese language. "Di da" is an example. It is used to describe the "drip drip drop" of raindrops. "Di di da da" is another example, and it's used to describe the "tick tock" of a clock! Since there are a lot of foreign languages spoken by students this class, I wonder if others can think of some examples in another language.

Sincerely,
Mindy (Abigail's mom)Mindynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2633466533683944100.post-29114626305806640432015-11-09T10:51:31.656-08:002015-11-09T10:51:31.656-08:00Good afternoon all,

Her middle name and her last name are palindromes too! Her full name is Anina Yatay Salas, and the entire movie was in Spanish. Luckily there were captions for it, so my mom and dad read the whole thing out loud in English to us. I liked the movie because it was set in a city that looked just like a small city I visited in Spain. Anina hates her name because it's a palindrome, but by the end of the movie she finds out why her parents gave her a name that's a palindrome and she changes her mind. Have you seen this movie?

I thought of another palindrome - wow. I really like the palindrome Will mentioned above and Kostaki mentioned in class, "yo banana boy" because it's long and it sounds so funny.
Love,
AbigailAbigailnoreply@blogger.com
