Some details I liked about the story are the fact it was a monstrous two-headed rattlesnake, Max's eyes were like two full moons, and Franklin's Fabulous Ferris Wheel. Love that alliteration!

I could visualize the Lego Pirates, and Benjamin Franklin pouring water all over Tiffany's face. If I were there and Tiffany fainted I would have said to Benjamin Franklin, "Just leave her because I don't want to go back to school."

What I think will happen next is, Max will convince Tiffany to stay there until school is over. They will spend the night in the tunnel until school is out the next day. Wow, what a marvelou...Dear Mrs. Yollis' Class,

Wow, what a marvelous job you did writing the second part of the story! The details, vocabulary, and dialogue are all fantastic. I love the carnival idea. I didn't know what to expect, but it certainly wasn't a carnival operated by Benjamin Franklin. (The two headed rattlesnake was quite a surprise too!)

I like they way you started part 2 with dialogue. We have talked a lot this year about how it's important to grab the reader's attention right away, and dialogue is a great way to do that.

Another thing I really enjoyed was how you "showed" what the characters were feeling instead of just "telling" what they felt. For example, when you wrote, "The two kids stood like statues at a wax museum. Max’s eyes grew wide, like two full moons while Tiffany... fainted" you didn't say that the kids were shocked, but instead you showed it with great details.

You also did a wonderful job developing the personalities of the two characters. I like how Max continues to be more care-free and messy, and Tiffany is more responsible. I also like how she calls him "Maximilian" a few times when she is seething with anger.

There are many parts of the writing that I love, but one of my favorites is when the ferris wheel, "clanked and wheezed as the buckets of riders circled around. Each time the bucket with the horrifying two-headed snake passed the hot dog stand, the snake’s long purple tongues licked the mustard off the delicious hot dogs." Beautiful writing!

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the story.

Your friend,
Mr. Salsich

P.S.
