  1. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

Wow! How incredibly fabulous your classroom looks! I am beyond impressed with your amazing work and all you have learned this year. My favorite part of your classroom are the dioramas. They are so creative and the effort you all put in to them is evident. You should all be so proud of how hard you have worked this year. Your teacher has clearly inspired you all! How lucky you all are to have have been in her classroom!

    Warmly,

  2. @ Mrs. Yollis and class,

    What a splendid evening indeed!

Open house in Room #12 was fabulous!

I really enjoyed all of the projects and creativity that was oozing through each corner and crevice of this spectacular classroom.

I especially enjoyed the biography dioramas as each one was so unique and creative. I also liked that we got to learn about the history of the respective individual each diorama was about.

I also really enjoyed seeing everyone's families enjoying the evening and appreciating the great work and creativity that has developed in this very special classroom. It was especially nice to meet Bubby and Uncle Irwin for the very first time after getting to know them through their active blogging.

Wow! What a great year in a very great class and with an especially great educator!

    Thank you,

    Liat (Chloe's mom)

    Dear Mrs. Yollis and Class,

Open House was wonderful. I am so impressed by all of the beautiful work the kids have done this year. Mrs. Yollis definitely brings out the best in her students. My favorite parts of the room are biography time line and the kelp forest. I am sitting in front of the kelp forest as I type this and I feel like I am on a peaceful island in the ocean.

I have thoroughly enjoyed blogging with Mrs. Yollis and her class for the past two years. I love that the kids are learning internet etiquette and about the world at the same time. It is amazing how the internet can make the world seem so small, despite its enormity.

Our entire family will miss Mrs. Yollis next year. I wish she could move up to 4th grade with Bryce!

Thank you for an amazing Open House and an incredible, inspiring, memorable two years!

    Sincerely,

    Sloane (Bryce's mom)

    @Mrs. Yollis,

What an amazing open house experience! I feel like I have traveled back through time and into the future, and all over the world, all in one hour! The students' projects are so imaginative and the obvious effort they put into them shows how much they loved making them. Even though I've been checking Shayna's work all year, it was so great to see the results of all her hard work in one fun night. Thanks for lighting her creative spark!

From a grateful and lucky parent,
    Barri

  7. Dear Readers,

Today was Open House! There were a lot of projects that Heather made. Heather's favorite part that she showed her mom was the Biographical Biography Time Line. It was impressive that everybody was able to turn black stick figure into their famous celebrities. Heather's mom thought that everybody had progress compared to last year in second grade.

There was also a manifold of clipboards with green papers on them. It was a checkoff list, with all of the projects typed on them. There were enough for the whole class to present this classroom to our parents. Heather noticed that the checkoff list didn't have the poems and the binder. Did you notice that?

We both think that this was a magnificent experience for us!

    Sincerely,
    Heather and Echo (Heather's Mom)

    @ Mrs. Yollis,

I forgot to tell you what my favorite part of open house was. It's a tie. I loved the 3-D paragraphs and the Limericks. I liked the cursive writing and the 3-D shapes and I thought Shayna's limerick was really funny!

    From an entertained parent,
    Barri

    Dear Mrs. Yollis and students,

It's hard to choose what assignment was my favorite, but if i have to choose, I'd go with the Biopoems. It was so lovely to see a short and sweet poem about their lives and dreams in poem form! It was nice to see my sisters work and all of her friends hard work as well!

    Sincerely,
    Kendall

Dear Mrs. Yollis & 3rd Grade Class,

What a treat! My favorite part of Mrs. Yollis' classroom open house this year was the "3-D Favorite Figures" - it was so much fun to see the students' imaginations in figure form. Each and every student transformed a simple piece of paper into an incredible real world object.

Was it difficult to keep the paper in figure form, students? Did you only use tape, or did you use glue to help?

    Sincerely,
    Eva (Keira's Stepmom)

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,

My favorite part of open house was the Biography Timeline. It was wonderful to see all the small but important details that the children displayed in each diorama. Not only was it was it educational, it was also entertaining. It was like walking into a movie theater that was a timeline!

    Sincerely,
    Carmen (Keira's Mom)

    Dear Mrs.Yollis,

I think that open house is an opportunity to learn about other things and everything. My dad says that open house is the best thing he's ever seen. Thank you for the open house.

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,
We really enjoyed open house in your class.
Our favorite part of the open house was the great Kapok tree with the hidden predators. Most of the predators, especially the larger ones are in danger of extinction. We need to make an effort to save the predators, since they provide an essential service to the environment by controlling the population of other animals.
We especially liked the Harpy Eagle. Eagles like all birds of prey are magnificent and a joy to watch soaring the sky.

    Sincerely,

    Sheila and her family

  15. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I had a great time at the open house. Chance's sister was amazed at what third graders do. She can't wait for third grade!

The biography timeline was very impressive and my favorite part of open house. I learned a lot about several famous people and what they did. It reminded me that no matter who you are or where you come from that you can make an impact in the world if you want to.

    Sincerely,
    Jennifer (Chance's mom)

  16. Darius and his familyMay 15, 2014 at 9:20 PM

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,

It was great to walk through the class projects with my family and show them my work today. My dad who is an architect was very impressed by spatial qualities and the craftsmanship of the dioramas. My sister who is in kindergarten got an idea of what she will be doing in 3rd grade. My mom loved my binder. I explained all the pages to her and she listened carefully to my descriptions for each page in the binder.

After the open house in our classroom I walked through the open house of the forth graders to see what to expect next year. Third grade has been great and I am very excited for fourth grade.

It was great to see all the work our class has done all year and it was even better to share it with my family.

    From,

    Darius and his family

  17. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

Good evening! We had a fabulous time at Open House and truly enjoyed viewing all the children's work. The biography dolls and dioramas were so creative and detailed. We loved the colors and brightness of the ice cream fractions too! All the writing, covering every inch of the walls was an incredible display of how hard the children, as well as you, have worked this year. Job very well done!

    Sincerely,
    Ben's family

Dear Mrs. Yollis & the talented students,

It's amazing to look at the various facets of talented work displayed at the open house. The best section we liked was the one on the 3D shapes. The description narrated by the students about their favorite shapes was an eye-opener and is a good representation of the hidden talent and creativity. Very good to see the artistic work & display gallery of all the great people from history. Impressive overall!

    Dear Mrs. Yollis,
WOW! We are so impressed by all the work the children have been doing. Roxy and I liked the Rain Forest habitat the most, because it shows many animals we probably won’t be able to see! I can’t believe the animals up the formed in their real size.

Did you like the Rain Forest what part of it why?

    Sincerely,
