Audio Book: The Tale Trail!

Our recent collaborative writing project with five other classes from around the world, The Tale Trail, is now an audio-book! That means you can listen to the story being read!

The classes -  Open the Door to B4, New Zealand; Mr. Salsich's Grade 3s, USAMrs. Watson's Grade 2/3s, Canada; Mr. Avery's Grade 6s, USA;
and 4KM and 4KJ, Australia; were all responsible for writing one installment each, publishing it on their blog and adding links to each part of the story.

In the last few weeks students from each class have recorded
their part of the story, using SlideRocket, giving us all the parts of the tale in one place!
We hope you will enjoy listening to the story.
(Press the play button on the slideshow below, and use the arrows to view each slide.)

Thank you to Mr. Avery for the wonderful idea.

We look forward to joining our buddies for projects next year.

  1. I have been reading about this story and following the blog posts. Now, to listen to the completed story read by all of you puts all the pieces together. It is amazing that students from schools so far apart could collaborate to create the stories on their blog and then go one step further and create an audio book. This is a phenomenal keepsake. I plan to share it with other teachers. Maybe, they will be inspired to do a similar project with their students.

    1. @ Judy,

Thanks so much! It was a wonderful project that we heard about from Mr. Avery. It really turned out well, and I love the audio component too. It was difficult at first because we had so many different ideas and had to choose, but the process was well worth it.

Glad you'll be sharing. I'd love to see more teachers using technology in meaningful ways!

      Sincerely,
      Mrs. Y♥llis

  2. Dear Mrs Yollis and class
Hi I am Lukah from B4 in New Zealand. I am Mrs McKenzie's student. I liked 'Bad News Bev' because the title was exciting.
Today at school B4 did describing words and flipping and also sliding. It was in maths.

  3. Hello Open the Door to B4; Mr. Salsich's Grade 3s, USA; Mrs. Watson's Grade 2/3s, Canada; Mr. Avery's Grade 6s, USA; and 4KM and 4KJ, Australia...

Wow, that was a long hello.

I very much enjoyed reading each addition of this Tale Trail story but being able to listen to it as an audio book is brilliant. It is so much easier to visualise the story when we can enjoy listening. Each person's expression when reading further added to the experience.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful creation. I hope you all enjoy you summer vacation up north and school holidays down south. :)

  5. What a great end to your project. Once again you have come up with a marvellous high quality collaboration, and I love the way you have completed it with the full story together in one place as both an audio and a visual recording - fabulous work and super reading of the story! Congratulations to all involved. I sincerely hope that you are now enjoying your summer vacation and a well earned break!
