Davo Devil Discovered!

Today Mrs. Yollis' class read the Traveling with Mr. 'Davo' Devil blog and was quite concerned!

Miss W. had a News Alert! Davo the Tasmanian Devil was nowhere to be found! He had not been seen since he was in Los Angeles in Mrs. Yollis' class. The students quickly searched the room and discovered a new student!

Do you see Davo crouching behind our visitor count?

Look more carefully...there is that little Davo!

When the school principal found out that Davo had stayed behind, she had a little talk with  him. She lectured him about always telling loved ones where you are.

Davo said he was sorry, but really wanted to do some more traveling in life.  Because he was so polite, the principal told him he could stay and be a part of our school community.

Welcome, Davo!

Davo then lined up with the boys and will be joining our class for a little while.

Since he is now in Mrs. Yollis' class, she assigned him an AlphaSmart and he has started his typing lessons. Keep your paws on the homerow, Davo!

He even listened in as Mrs. Yollis read aloud to the students from The BFG!

Davo pointed to his old home in Australia and waved the national flag!

Davo will be out in the community having adventures with Mrs. Yollis' students.

What kinds of activities will he be doing?

  2. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I love your post! When I saw Miss W.'s post, I thought she had Davo and she was just doing the post for fun. Then, I found Davo in a sneaky hiding spot behind the visitor count!

Davo is staying with us tonight and he would like to say a few words:

Hi Mrs. Yollis! I'm really sorry I was sneaky and stayed behind. I just really loved traveling and visiting classes so much that I really didn't want to stop and decided to hide in your classroom. Next time I should think a little more and let Miss W. know where I am. This evening, I am visiting Leila and her family. So far I have learned some farsi, helped Leila with her homework, practiced some piano, made a gingerbread house and did some karate with Hannah. It's almost dinner time and I am really hungry. I wonder what's for dinner!

Ok everyone, this is Leila again, Davo and I are going to have dinner now.

    Sincerely,
    Leila♥

P.S. Davo has helped type this comment and the AlphaSmart is really paying off!

  3. Dear Mrs. Yollis

I was very suprised when Leila found the Tasmanian devil. I think it looks a lot like a cat. It was funny when Mrs. W left her Tasmanian devil behind and now she is thousands of miles away. I hope she does not miss it. Meanwhile our class will take good care of it.

    Sincerely Etai

  4. G'day Leila,

    Thank goodness you found him.

Squirrel and I were very worried. Please also thank your principal for having a quiet talk with him.

Did you take any photos of Davo while he was at your house?

If you want to write a post about him, you could send it to me (see the widget on his blog's sidebar) and I will put it on his blog so everyone else interested in his journey can see what he has been doing.

I feel any form of adventures that Davo has while he is with you all would be awesome!

    @ Leila,

How wonderful that Davo has spent an evening with your family. From reading his comment sounds like he sure was a well behaved Little Devil.

Hope he is not missing Miss W but somehow I feel he is having to much of a great time to even think of Miss W. :)

    Sincerely,
    AA

  6. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

Davo Devil really is a little devil and seems to like to get up to mischief. I think he saw an opportunity to expand his learning.

With Alpahsmart in paw, he's set to start blogging. I'm glad Davo has also shown himself to be a good listener. That's a very important skill.

Australia will miss Davo but luckily we have many cousins of his to keep us company.

I look forward to reading more of Davo's adventures in his new home. :)

  7. Bungiorno Mrs. Yollis & Class, from Courmayert, Italy. I understand you may have a visitor from last year in the classroom today so I wanted to say hello to Ben. Things are fine here in Italy it is snowing today in our village of Courmayeur . I am not writing very much because I have to type with one hand and also dictate to the computer and the computer does not always understand me well . Ben's Nonno

I am thankful that Davo is here with us. I think Davo is having a great time with us. I was shocked that we found the little devil in the classroom. I was so fascinated that we get to take Davo home.

  10. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I really like this post! If Davo would have stayed with us then he would have been playing the piano with me. I would be teaching him many songs. Then I would take him to my gymnastics class and teach him some gymnastics, for example handstands. Then I teach him some Russian. I hope Davo would like Rusian! Then I would make a really cozy bed for him to sleep in. After that, he would have to go back to school.:(

    Sincerely,
    Sarah
